John leads a team of data scientists to support and expand analysis capabilities that power research at Calico. He oversees the strategic design of innovative workflows, methods, and tools that enhance data utility and accelerate discovery across Calico’s programs.
Before joining Calico, John was Chief Technology Officer at Serimmune, an immune profiling company, where he led a data science team focused on pioneering machine learning methods for early cancer detection and infectious disease diagnostics. He previously held VP roles at Illumina and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, where he established data science teams to interpret whole genome sequence data in rare disease and oncology and deliver translational analyses in inflammation, oncology, and virology.
