Matt Sooknah is a Software Engineer in the Computing group

"Calico is unlike any other place I’ve worked. Here, software engineers and data scientists work closely with experimental scientists to answer fundamental questions about biology. I have a lot of autonomy in defining my own projects and working with collaborators across the organization to help them succeed. I've had the opportunity to develop computer vision models for interpreting microscopy data, and to build genomics data analysis tools that have been used in multiple papers. However, the most rewarding work has been mentoring biologists on the principles of scientific programming and data analysis."
