Using a strategic and modality-agnostic approach, Snahel’s team explores a broad spectrum of options, including reversible and irreversible modulators, degraders, and peptides to discover small molecule therapeutics with optimal properties for maximizing patient benefit. His role spans all therapeutic areas at Calico, ensuring discovery of high-quality molecules for advancing drug development.
Snahel has over 25 years of drug discovery experience ranging from hit identification strategies to successful first-in-patient administration. Prior to joining Calico, he served as the Vice President and Head of Drug Discovery at Frontier Medicines where he oversaw multiple functions, including Medicinal Chemistry, CMC, and lab operations. Over his career, spanning additional leadership roles at Tenaya Therapeutics, Genentech, and Pfizer, Snahel has been an inventor or co-inventor of multiple clinical molecules across various major therapeutic areas.
