Sandip leads Calico’s Data Engineering team which is a multidisciplinary group of scientist-engineers who collaborate with computational biologists, machine learning engineers, and lab scientists to ensure ready access to high-quality research data at Calico.
Prior to joining Calico, Sandip was a Bioinformatics Engineer at Ancestry where he implemented data processing infrastructure for the largest genomic dataset in the world and developed data access tools for a large team of biomedical researchers. Earlier in his career, he was a Bioinformatics Data Analyst and Research Associate at the Scripps Research Institute where he, among other accomplishments, built a biomedical knowledge graph linking chemicals and diseases using a machine learning framework and full text biomedical research information.
