Research Focus

I perform bioinformatic, biometric, biostatistical, and quantitative genetic analyses of diversiform data in order to describe the aging process in humans and model organisms.

As a postdoc with Dr. Joseph DeRisi at the University of California, San Francisco, I wrote software (PRICE) for the discovery of novel viruses from metagenomic deep-sequencing of clinical specimens. As a graduate student with Dr. David Bartel at M.I.T., I analyzed deep-sequence data for the annotation and characterization of microRNA genes.
