Position description:

Calico is inviting applications from biologists who are excited to work within a discovery research team using yeast as a model system to study cellular aging. We welcome applications from scientists and technology enthusiasts alike to create and apply the next generation of technologies to help tackle aging.   

Position requirements:

  • A Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology, Systems Biology, Bioengineering, or related field
  • Expertise with yeast genetics and molecular biology
  • Experience with live-cell imaging and quantification of microscopy data
  • Analytical skills with experience using at least one of the following – MATLAB, R, or Python – is preferred
  • An interest in signal processing by cells and mechanisms of feedback control  
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Experience with developing and/or applying ‘omic technologies in their research (ribosome profiling, RNA-Seq, etc.) is a plus
