Principal Software Engineer
Inspired by recent successes in representation learning, Frank focuses on developing techniques for modeling cell state and cellular response to perturbations. With a heavy emphasis on data fusion and transfer learning, this work guides scientific inquiry by predicting experimental outcomes and suggesting novel hypotheses for follow-up. In particular, Frank’s team builds cutting-edge computer vision models to enable faster, more reliable, and deeper analysis of biological images.
Prior to joining Calico, Frank worked at Google on an internal machine learning consultancy team, where he contributed to early-stage TensorFlow development and helped various teams build, evaluate, and deploy machine learning models. Before that, he was a software engineer at Google X and Palantir, as well as a co-founder of Clinkle.
