In addition to purification, Dan’s group also works on identifying and characterizing protein interactions, including aggregation using techniques such as SPR, ITC, TR-FRET and cell based binding assays.

Prior to Calico, Dan had an over 30 year career at Genentech. In the last 15 years there, he served as the Senior Director of the Protein Chemistry department overseeing Protein Purification, Protein Conjugation, Functional Genomics and Proteomics. Dan’s Genentech lab focused on protein purification/characterization, protein-protein interactions, and development of novel bispecific antibody platforms.
