Position description:

As a member of the IT team, you will help your Calico colleagues be more productive with rapid problem resolution and a proactive approach to improving Calico’s end-user computing environment. You have a passion for investigating technical challenges, understanding root causes, and implementing improvements. You are skilled at prioritizing and handling multiple requests with poise. In addition to helping your colleagues, you maintain the video conferencing/presentation technology in our conference rooms and help your colleagues to use it effectively. You are a strong relationship builder who connects user productivity with achieving our aspirations to better understand aging and age-related disease.

Position requirements:

  • Expert level understanding of macOS and Apple hardware
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, 8, and 10 and PC hardware
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
  • Exposure to basic user administration in Microsoft Active Directory
  • Proficiency with G-Suite applications
  • Ability to work closely with the user community, interpret issues, understand requirements, and develop solutions
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to create and maintain technical and functional documentation
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to extend work hours to cover occasional maintenance events outside of normal business hours, as required
  • 3+ years of experience providing desktop support to users in a heterogeneous environment

Nice to have:

  • Basic scripting with Bash, Python
  • User-level understanding of Linux
  • Experience administering Cisco Call Manager
  • Familiarity with JAMF endpoint management
  • Expertise with Video Conference Technologies (Cisco, Zoom, CfM)
